Step Two: Surgery
Step Two of our Three Steps to Hope program is surgery and/or medical mitigation. While all of the children in our care have some type of special need, the range of needs and spectrum of solutions varies widely.
Some children need only minor surgery to be returned to full health, while others may only be able to mitigate their need with one-time or ongoing medical intervention. These children are facing every disadvantage – abandoned by their families, they are also living in a society where disabilities aren't always accepted and accommodated even though medical treatment can be given at a fraction of the cost of the same treatment in the West. One of our goals at Harmony is to step into the shoes of their missing parents be 100% of their solution.
What is the Surgery Sponsorship Program?
As part of our surgery sponsorship program, you can sponsor a surgery in whole or as part of a collective group of friends and give new hope and a better future to a formerly hopeless and helpless orphan or to an impoverished family member in inland China.
