Wanda was found abandoned on July 11, 2009, and was turned over to an orphanage in Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang province in the extreme West of China. She was transferred into our care at Harmony House exactly five months later on December 11, 2009.
Her first stop was the hospital to be evaluated to determine if she has any special needs. She was found to be completely normal and healthy with the exception of a cleft lip/palate. Within less than a month, Wanda had her lip repaired--as you can see above. She will be scheduled as soon as she is ready for the cleft palate surgery.
She is a beautiful little girl and has a healthy appetite. She was named for Wanda Hildreth of Murrieta, California.
